From the Ume satellite of 1976 to the world’s first docking satellites, Orihime and Hikoboshi, Sharp solar cells have been installed in Japanese satellites as an energy source which functions under the harsh conditions of Space. With the superior technology of the only Japanese manufacturer certified by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), the solar cell systems installed in these satellites have outstanding, trouble-free performance.
