Sharp signs agreement to help establish one of the world’s largest solar power plants

Sharp, in collaboration with local companies both domestic and abroad, has signed an agreement to provide thin-film silicon solar panels and solar-related logistics to help establish a 73MW solar power plant in the Lop Buri Province, Kingdom of Thailand.

This solar power plant will generate enough energy to power over 70,000 homes*1 with its 500,000 solar panels and is set to begin operations in 2011. The area that this power plant will cover is equivalent to 250 football fields. It will be one of the world’s largest solar power plants.
